Wisconsin native, Gina Wood is a diverse violinist with extensive experience as an orchestral performer, chamber musician, and educator. Her musical career has taken her to perform at Carnegie Hall, in the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria and Canada, and regionally in the North American Tours of Josh Groban, Mannheim Steamroller, Rod Stewart, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. She has shared the stage with extraordinary artists including Peter Cetera, Kristin Chenoweth, Charlotte Church, Art Garfunkel, Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Garrison Keillor, Melissa Manchester, Johnny Mathis, Anne Murray, Bernadette Peters, Gene Pitney, Diane Reeves, Daniel Rodriguez and Maxim Vengerov, among others. Her recording experience includes music for AHAVA Productions, Cory Z Project (Co-Producer Island Styles, Candlebox guitarist), Heart of the Nation Television broadcasts and original works by composer Josh Schmidt. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, where she studied on a full tuition scholarship. Upon graduation, she went on to serve as Associate Concertmaster of the Green Bay Symphony and Concertmaster of the Green Bay Civic Orchestra. She has performed with Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago?s finest ensembles including the Milwaukee Ballet, Skylight Opera Theater, Bach Chamber Choir, Bel Canto Chorus Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and Chicago Pops. Outside of her active performing career, she is a violin faculty member of the Barcel Suzuki String Academy. Gina Wood performs on a 1986 Jennifer Becker violin and a violin bow made by St. Paul-based, French-trained American bowmaker, Matt Wehling.
